Incremental Interface
Incremental Interface
The incremental interface can be used to transmit length increments or distances.
The length sensor provides a quadrature signal pair consisting of two square pulses, shifted in phase to each other by 90°. Each edge can be interpreted as a movement (4x edge count). A detection of direction of motion can be realized between both square pulse signals A and B by using a logical operation.
By evaluating the frequency of the incremental signal a velocity measurement is possible.
